Awards and Decorations

I have received numerous awards, decorations, and distinctions over the course of my career for my dedication to my craft and my community. Each of them are listed below, with links to additional information where available.




Decorations

  • Air Force Achievement Medal (2002)

    Given for meritorious service between November, 2002 and November 2004. Accomplishments include reducing the load time of a key planning report by 98% and developing the first Best Practices and Coding Standards document used by the team.

  • Joint Service Achievement Medal (2005)

    Given for meritorious service between November, 2004 and November 2005. Accomplishments include redesigning the Defense Courier Service public web site and an automated software deployment system for installing and configuring software updates across twenty geographically separated stations.

  • Joint Service Achievement Medal (2008)

    Given for meritorious service between March, 2007 and January 2008. Accomplishments include developing the Travel Credential Management System for the White House Military Office and developing the Presidential Status Report, saving over 600 man hours of processing.

  • Presidential Service Badge (2006)

    Given for honorable service in support of the President of the United States of America.



Awards

  • DISA Outstanding Achievement in Computer Science Team Award (2005)

    Given for the overall outstanding performance of the White House Communications Agency, Information Systems Division in modernizing Presidential communications and implementing a custom developed, state-of-the-art enterprise resource planning system for tracking and automating all facets of Presidential support.

  • White House Communications Agency Enlisted Person of the Quarter (2007)

    This is a competitive award given for superior job performance and dedicated personal and professional development. Candidates compete in a series of panel based interviews where they are assessed on their military bearing, general knowledge, job performance, and the ability to perform under pressure.

  • American Legion Spirit of Service Award, DISA Nominee (2008)

    Nominated for a long-term commitment to community service, including five years as a Science Olympiad state and national event supervisor. Selected to represent the Defense Information Systems Agency at the Air Force level competition.

  • Outstanding DC ACM Volunteer (2008)

    Given for outstanding dedication the Washington DC chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery serving as the chapter's webmaster. Accomplishments include reestablishing the chapter's web presence, developing a custom SharePoint portal for committee collaboration, and writing custom software to support membership and professional development seminar registration.

  • White House Communications Agency All Star (2009)

    Given for consistent, superior job performance between January, 2008 and December, 2008. Accomplishments include laying the architectural groundwork for Air Force One Manifest system, designing and implementing a feedback and issue resolution system for resolving problems during Presidential travel, and architecting the agency's first disaster-recovery/high-availability strategy for enterprise web applications.
